The Watership Down Webring Awards

Without a doubt, there are some absolutely brilliant Watership Down sites in this ring. The idea of the awards is to finally give the webmasters some of the recognition they deserve. The awards will be given periodically to the site voted best by the public. What counts as the best site? Well that's up to you. It could be down to great design, wonderful information or even just being kept up-to-date. Whatever the reason, If you have a favourite in the ring, why not vote for it.

How it works

Originally the Watership Down Webring awards were run once-per-season. As I've been a little lax in site updates since 2005 and the winners of the awards are generally unchanging, I've decided to shift it now to once per year instead. Originally people could also vote in two ways, one of which was an easy and convenient link from the navbar. Alas, there's also an added problem with the vote link on the navbars now. Those who use my customised HTML bars from off this site are fine, however those who use the default Javascript-based SSNB webring.com provide may have noticed a change over the past few months. Basically the direct vote link disappeared to be replaced by 'Please visit the Watership Ring Homepage to vote'. This was due to a silly change of terms at Webring.com blocking any non-webring.com links. Despite this, there are still 2 ways to vote for a good number of sites, though in general the first method is recommended now. Voting can be done as follows:-

1) From this site - By visiting this page, and clicking on the link below
2) From the ringmember's site - Those with newer non-Javascript versions of the Navbar should have a 'vote' link on it

The only sites permanently excluded from the awards are my 2 - Thank U Stars, and this Webring Site, as I don't think it would be fair to include them.

What do they win?

Well, nothing fancy (So forget about the holiday in Barbados). The only real prize is that the winner's site becomes the featured site in the ring for the next 12 months. Most importantly, though, they get the pride of realising just how much others appreciate their hard work.
